Hurdler declared non-runner at Ballarat

After finishing second in the maiden hurdle at Ballarat, Polixenis Boy has been declared a non-runner for running inside the line of a marker peg.

Corey Waller, the steward in charge of Thursday’s Ballarat meeting, said there was only two options open to his panel – being declared a non-runner or disqualification.

Waller explained Polixenis Boy was forced inside the line of the marker by another runner near the 600m mark.

“With that scenario there was only two options available to stewards,” Waller told Racing Live.
