Danglissa Girl has posted a milestone win for Tony Gollan, giving Brisbane’s premier trainer the new metropolitan record.
Gollan equalled the late Bruce McLachlan on 78 when Most Important won at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday and set the new standard with Danglissa Girl’s Doomben victory a day later.
McLachlan posted his total in 1987/88.
Danglissa Girl was ridden by Brisbane’s soon-to-be crowned premier jockey Jim Byrne to a decisive win in a 1200m-maiden for two-year-olds.
The filly by leading first season sire Hinchinbrook out of 1999 Flight Stakes winner Danglissa won her race by 1-1/4 lengths.
