Yendall appeals careless riding ban

Dean Yendall’s chances of finishing the season as the leading rider of winners in Australia will rest with an appeal against a careless riding suspension.

Yendall has ridden 143 winners for the season, half a win more than Sydney-based James McDonald and one more than Blake Shinn with just over a week of the season to go.

But Yendall was suspended for nine meetings at Mildura on Monday with his ban due to start after Wednesday and run until the end of the season on July 31.
